1. Who we are
Top Dog Salon & Spa ("we", "us") operates this website and the salon at 207 Holderness Road, Kingston upon Hull, HU8 8TA. We are the data controller for the information described below.
2. What we collect
When you book or contact us, we collect:
- Your name, email and phone number
- Your dog's details (name, breed, size, age, temperament notes)
- Your booking history and any notes related to past appointments
- Marketing preferences if you've opted in
When you pay, our payment provider Stripe collects your card details directly — we never see or store them. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the grooming service you've booked
- To send booking confirmations and reminders
- To process refunds, cancellations and changes
- To send marketing emails or SMS — only if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe any time)
- To improve our service based on aggregated, non-personal patterns
4. Who we share it with
The minimum needed to run the business:
- Stripe — to process card payments
- SendGrid — to send transactional emails
- Twilio — to send SMS reminders (only if you've opted in)
- Our hosting provider — for storing the website and database
We never sell your data. We never share it with anyone for marketing purposes outside of Top Dog.
5. How long we keep it
Booking and dog profile information is kept for 7 years after your last appointment for accounting and welfare records. Marketing data is deleted within 30 days of you unsubscribing. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- See what we hold on you
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Delete it (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to specific uses (like marketing)
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session management and basic site function. We use no third-party advertising cookies and we don't track you across other websites. If we add analytics in future, you'll be asked to consent first.

If we change this policy materially, we'll email registered customers and update the date at the top of this page.
